The INSECT paintings in this collection are about home and hope, houses (exoskeletons), and armor.  They are about the ephemeral, delicate silky cocoons we build to protect ourselves and to grow in, which ultimately must be unraveled in order to fly. And, of course, they are the human need to unfurl one's proverbial wings and soar.
